I counsel using an integrative approach of varying counseling techniques. I view clients from an Adlerian perspective, which means I look at various areas of your life to help you get a better understanding of how you are engaging the world, how you see yourself in it, and where you’d like to be in it. By talking about your family of origin and memories you hold from childhood, as well as what current situation you find yourself in, I hope to develop what patterns you may have in your life, both good and bad, and how we can utilize or eliminate them to help you gain a place in life that is rewarding for you.

Faith is a very important foundation for myself. personally, but I know that everyone is on their own journey with whatever that may look like to them.   I am very passionate about meeting clients where they are at and honoring their beliefs and values.  When it is important to my clients to incorporate faith in a therapeutic way I am here to bring that into session as well.

My Therapeutic Approach

emdr trained counselor

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, (EMDR)  which is a therapy technique used to help people work through traumatic or disturbing events. I am also trained to use EMDR for phyiscal pain as well.  I am trained in Intimacy Therapy (a Christian counseling model developed by Dr. David Ferguson that helps people heal and grow in the context of relationships). I utilize experiential techniques from the Life Model, created by Dr. Jim Wilder that uses a neuro-theological perspective as well as Attachment theory concepts. I am also trained in Level 1 Gottman theory for couples and use many of these theories to help families through issues as well.

“I so appreciate all your love, support and guidance!!!”
